Patrick’s Day Party

You don’t have to be Irish to get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit. You just have to know how to have fun! If you’re looking for a great way to spend St. Patrick’s Day, why not help your kids throw a St. Patrick’s Day Party? Here are a few tips on planning a party that you’ll both be talking about for months to come.

Cut out shamrock-shaped invitations for your kids to send to their friends. Don’t forget to tell your guests to wear green.

Decorate your house with green and white streamers and green and white balloons. Then, create an eye-catching tablecloth by covering a white paper tablecloth with green shamrocks. (Simply make a shamrock-shaped stamp out of a potato. Dip the potato stamp in a little green paint and you’ll have a tablecloth that would delight any leprechaun.)

Decide what each member of the family is going to wear to the party. Pull out those green hats, green hair ribbons, green bow ties, green shirts, green pants and green socks!

Think of fun ways to get green on the menu, too. Play it healthy and put out a platter of green veggies with — you guessed it — green veggie dip on the side.

Go for total sugar overload and offer the guests green milkshakes, pistachio ice cream and green Jello. Or get the party guests involved in making Green Mashed Potato Sculptures, the ultimate in edible art!

Plan to play some party games like Green Charades and Leprechaun Magic — both perfect picks for a St. Patrick’s Day party.

Have fun! March 17th only rolls around once a year so make sure you mark it in a fun and memorable way.
