Safety on the Road

Despite the fact that we are taught safe driving habits from an early age, automobiles take thousands of lives every year.

To increase safety on the road, follow these simple hints:

Always wear a seat belt in the car.
Use proper child safety seats for kids under age 4.

Wear a helmet when you ride a bike (choose one that meets the ANSI or Snell standard) or motorcycle (choose one that meets U.S. Department of Transportation standards).

Never drink and drive — or drive with anyone who has been drinking.
Keep a flashlight in the car for emergencies and for walking through unlighted parking areas after dark.
You are probably familiar with most if not all of these concepts. But even the simplest guidelines are worthless unless you heed them.
