Summer Makeup

This winter, the dark MAC lipstick colors were in. I think they look ridiculous in the summer with pastels. Any recommendations?

Amen, sister! You got it right. Dark lips are definitely NOT the way to go for summer. Not only does it feel heavy and vampire-y, but it just doesn’t go with that light blue nail polish you’re wearing, now does it? It only makes sense to wear something a little lighter, a little more, well, summery.

A frosty pink is very cool. If you’re super daring, you can try white. It’s very ’60s, very Coureges, very mod. (And it looks great with a tan, if you’re one of the sickos still tanning yourself despite all of the skin cancer warnings you’re bombarded with daily…so says the reformed sun worshipper!)

Actually, anything frosty or iridescent is cool for both lips and digits. Blues and greens are also supposedly in for lips. But you’d really need to have your head examined to wear something as unflattering as blue or green lipstick unless you’re on a runway and you’re being paid handsomely to do so.

Of course, the threat of looking hideous isn’t doing much to discourage the ultra-trendies from wearing blue eye shadow, is it?
